What new books are you looking forward to most in 2008? Something new being published this year? Something you got as a gift for the holidays? Anything in particular that you’re planning to read in 2008 that you’re looking forward to? A classic, or maybe a best-seller from 2007 that you’re waiting to appear in paperback?

New this year – Some of the new books (copyright 2008) that I’m eagerly looking forward to reading are: Guardian’ s Keep by Lori Devoti — this is the 2nd in the Unbound series and the 3rd is suppose to be published this year too (yay!); State of the Onion by Julie Hyzy (1st in the White House Chef Mystery series); Magic Burns by Ilona Andrews (2nd Kate Daniels book); The Good Liar by Laura Caldwell. I joined the Pub ‘08 Challenge so I wouldn’t feel guilty reading a newer book when I had so many older books in my TBR pile. My 2008 Challenges page has a short list of 2008 books I want to read. Of course, there will be more.

New to paperback – Two recent additions to my TBR pile that I’ve had on my Want list for while, patiently waiting for the paperbacks: Silent in the Grave by Deanna Raybourn and Star Wars: Allegiance by Timothy Zahn. An older Star Wars book, Darth Bane: Path of Destruction by Drew Karpyshyn, is a definite must-read for me this year as I kept putting it off last year.

Older books discovered/recommended in 2007 – There a just too many to list here. My 2008 Challenges page covers a sizable chunk of my TBR pile. One goal for this year is that I would like to read at least one book from each of my favorite mystery series.
