Tom had never trusted me, despite the fact that I’d proved myself again and again. That was just one of the issues between us. — pg 56, (Affairs of Steak ~ Julie Hyzy)

    • Tom’s a Secret Service agent on the president’s detail. Ollie is the WH chef with a habit of wanting to useful in solving WH mysteries. And they were a couple at one time. She broke up with him. I think she was in the wrong, but I also know that they couldn’t have lasted as a couple, given his job and her need to help out.

    • No steak, just a play on words. 😉 The covers of this series look good to eat, though.

Oh, wait, I forgot. There is a little picture of a steak at the start of every chapter.

    • It’s cold outside and they want to get their errand over with, so they can get back to the WH. 🙂

The series is good. I think it’s gets better with each book. It has to be tough, finding a balance between reality and suspending-your-belief.
