I know I’m early, but I wanted to get my personal challenges posted so I don’t have to worry about them during the holidays.
I liked the idea of “By the Dozen” for 2012 so much that I decided that I had to do “A Baker’s Dozen” for 2013. After all, a baker’s dozen is 13.
The set up is the same as “By the Dozen“:
- 1st Baker’s Dozen — 13 books first published in 2013
- 2nd Baker’s Dozen — 13 books from the Perpetual Challenges (In Death, Georgette Heyer, and Star Wars Expanded Universe)
- 3rd Baker’s Dozen — 13 books from various series I started or own
As of this posting, I’m not likely to reach my goal for the 2012 By the Dozen Challenge — though I’m doing better than previous years, I’ve only read 5 of the 12 needed for the 2nd dozen (In Death, Georgette Heyer, and Star Wars Expanded Universe). I want to be successful with regards to the 2nd baker’s dozen in 2013. Towards that end, I’ve given these books special consideration in the re-vamped Reading Has Its Rewards guidelines for 2013. Hopefully, that will be a strong incentive to read them.
