I read your post and found myself thinking, “what romance?” so obviously that part wasn’t as memorable for me. Now that I am remembering it, the romance was pretty sudden considering the limited face to face time. In any case, it was the mystery that made this book for me.

It’s a pretty good urban fantasy series so far. It doesn’t have a love triangle — Nathaniel isn’t someone she chose for herself (you’ll understand if you read the first book) and never wanted him; it’s Gabriel she’s attracted to, but there are complications (also, explained in the first book).

I hope you get the chance to read the first book.

It was pretty good. It was more of a political book than an action book. It’s about how a member of the Intergalactic Banking Clan (Plagueis) and a career politician (Palpatine) help expedite the fall of the Republic. They had the power of the darkside, but they also relied on plain old corruption and greed.

A darkside library wouldn’t have anything, er, nice to read in it, I’m sure. Mostly likely get yourself killed if you went anywhere near it.
