I was first introduced to this author when her fifth book, We’ll Always Have Parrots was recommended to me by Amazon.com – based on previous purchases. I normally don’t like to start a series in the middle, but the it sounded funny so I read it. The book, which takes place at a fan convention for an fictional television series, was hilarious. I immediately bought up the first four books.

Meg’s family is eccentric all right. Her mother seems to be related, somehow, to nearly everybody. Amazingly, they all seem to get along. As if all those eccentric habits keeps them in a good-natured state. Even when her parents divorced, it was amiable.

The murder and the mystery takes a back seat to the larger story of Meg trying to juggle three brides and their assorted to-do lists. Funny thing to admit about a mystery novel, but I didn’t mind that much. I loved Meg and her kinfolk.
