In October, I completed 3 books and one short story. None of them have a review as of this posting.

The Book Breakdown (how the book counted):

  • Kiss of Fate (Deborah Cooke) – Pub 2009; Countdown 2010
  • For the Love of Pete (Julia Harper) – Countdown 2010, Pub 2009
  • Three Bags Full (Leonie Swann) – Countdown 2010

All books count toward the Year of the Reader Challenge

October was supposed to be the month that I got caught with the reviews.  Oh well.  Had I not lost all of my post from late May onward, and then participated in the 24 Hour Read-a-Thon, I might have had two or three more reviews done.  And there would be one less book read.  Here’s what got posted (and re-posted):

The backlogged reviews posted:

What’s still pending:

  • Skykeepers
  • The Wallflower
  • The Maverick’s Greek Island Mistress
  • Duel of Hearts
  • Line of Scrimmage
  • On the Edge
  • Time Raiders: The Seduction (Cindy Dees)(Nocturne Bite)
  • Kiss of Fate
  • For the Love of Pete
  • Three Bags Full
  • “Falling for Anthony” (Meljean Brook), Hot Spell(anthology)

Below is my status regarding the various challenges.  The Anne Stuart Read-a-Feast kind of disappeared.  Well, not kind of at all.  The host moved to a self-hosted site but didn’t carry over this challenge.  I never asked why, but my guess is that there wasn’t much participation.  As you can see, I only read one book.  I had plans to read more, of course.  And since there were no minimums, I’m counting it as a successful challenge.  Of the remaining 2009-ending challenges, I’m pretty sure the only one I will complete is the Harlequin/Silhouette Challenge.   I’m having a hard time finding a book for the “building” requirement for the What’s in a Name 2.  As for the 1st in a Series and 2nds Challenges, I have a good shot of completing one or the other, but not both.  Not if I want to read Christmas-themed books and Harry Potter in December.  And the A-Z Challenge is a lost cause.  I haven’t added to that one in months.

I’ve signed up for three challenges.  Two of them start in January and the third kicked off in October.  I’m also going to sign up for at least one winter/Christmas challenge.

  1. You’re doing well Christina. I’m doing the Alphabet Challenge on Library Thing but I haven’t set a completion date so I don’t feel too overwhelmed by it yet! I’m still struggling with a X title though.

    • There were several I knew I wasn’t going to find books for, no matter what (X being one of them). But what has amazed me so far is, I’ve managed to skip reading books written by authors with more common lettered names (L, T, P, N).
