  • You can join along in the fun at anytime during the year.
  • Create a post with the graphic that links back to this post! Sign up using Mr. Linky.
  • You do not need to select your books ahead of time. Just make sure that you have a list of them at the end of the challenge.

**However, Reviews are NOT necessary!!**

  • Cross-overs with other challenges are welcome.
  • Retold fairy tales can span across any genre and sub-genre — including YA (there’s some great ones out there!) — can be any length, and in any format.

~~ & ~~

I really wanted to participate in this challenge. I had a couple of books in my TBR pile that I think might meet the guidelines. Just in case, I used a giftcard I got for Christmas to buy two books that I knew fit the criteria. I have a couple more on my wishlist, as back up,  should I need them.

The questionables:

  • My Fair Godmother (Janette Rallison) — the book description states that the fairy godmother sends her charge “back in time to the Middle Ages, first as Cinderella, then as Snow White”.
  • The Sea of Monsters (Percy Jackson #2) — Greek mythology.  I think it fits the “Enchanted Cousins” category.

Known re-tellings:

  • A Curse Dark as Gold (Elizabeth C. Bunce) — Rumplestilskin
  • Before Midnight (Cameron Dokey) — Cinderella

I’ll stay at the Dreamer level for now, and if I read more, I’ll change it.

As usual, I will track my progress here.

Oh, wouldn’t it be great if myths and legends could be included as “Enchanted Cousins”? =) Then maybe I’d get an excuse to finish reading the Percy Jackson series as well! 😉
