2011 SFR Reading Challenge Button

What: 2011 Sci-Fi Romance Reading Challenge
When: 1 January – 31 December 2011
Who: Rae Lori (SFR Reading Challenge)
Rules: Pick a level and read that number of books by the end of the year. Below are some rules and the levels. For more details and sign-up, go here.

Quoted from the 2010 challenge on her personal blog:

“Sci-Fi Romance is a marriage of both the sci-fi genre (stories which are largely possible within scientifically established or scientifically postulated laws of nature (though some elements in a story might still be pure imaginative speculation)) and romance (a story about two characters falling in love, eventually leading to a happy, optimistic and satisfying ending). Basically sci-fi books that feature extraordinary new worlds, futuristic landscapes, otherworldly action adventures with a romantic relationship on the side (or featured) throughout the course of the book/series. Think Trinity and Neo in the Matrix, Deunan and Briareos in the Appleseed series (yes, graphic novels count!), Jake Sully and Neytiri in Avatar, and Leia and Han in the Star Wars films.”

Audiobooks, ebooks, and graphic novels are all acceptable.

Levels:
The Earth Reading Challenge – Read 5 SFR novels.
The Moon Reading Challenge – Read 15 SFR novels.
The Venus Reading Challenge – Read 25 SFR novels.
The Jupiter Reading Challenge – Read 50 SFR novels.

Potentials:
Close Encounters (Allred, Katherine)
Body Master (Barry, C. J.)
Song of Scarabaeus (Creasy, Sara)
Touched by an Alien (Koch, Gini)
Tekgrrl (Menden, A. J.)

~~ & ~~

I discovered this reading challenge through it’s Goodreads.com group. The host set up a separate blog for the challenge, so there’s no need to join the group (I did, but that’s just me). Like all of the other blog-hosted challenges, I will track my progress here.
