Wrapping Up 2011 (WU2011) Read-a-thon: Starting Point

contentnewsmarketing

I still have a few things to do today before I can get down to some serious reading.  Since I’m not doing anything special for Christmas this year, I’ll have plenty of time to read this weekend, but to do that, I’ll need to get some groceries and do a little laundry. 😀

My primary goal for this read-a-thon is to finish reading three books I started in late October/early November.  If I manage that, before the end, I will set a new goal.  Below, I’ve listed the books, the starting pages and total number of pages of the books (and original start date):

  • Bespelling Jane Austen (anthology) – 196/424 (21 October)
  • First Grave on the Right (Darynda Jones) – 147/310 ( 6 November)
  • Catching Fire (Suzanne Collins) – 120/391 (17 November)

I decided that I will do my updates the following day — since I don’t know how late I’ll be staying up every night or if I decide to read a chapter before bed.  I’m also going to turn off my comment spam blocker plugin for the duration — I plan to visit and offer encouragements to my fellow read-a-thoners so I should make it a little easier for them to stop by and say hi. 😉

  1. Looks like you have some great books picked out. Catching Fire is even better than The Hunger Games so I hope you enjoy it. I have First Grave on the Right on my tbr pile so maybe I’ll get to that someday soon.

    Happy read-a-thon!

    • Thanks for stopping by, Alexa!

I’ve enjoyed what I’ve read so far of both books. I’ve read the end of Mockingjay, so I’ve been able to read Catching Fire without being in a total state of anxiety — had to know if Katniss (at least) survived the series.

      Good luck!

    • Thanks! I’m reading First Grave now — had to backtrack a few pages, couldn’t remember what Charley and Cookie were talking about. 🙂
