Tom had never trusted me, despite the fact that I’d proved myself again and again. That was just one of the issues between us. — pg 56, (Affairs of Steak ~ Julie Hyzy)
Wonder where they’re going in such a hurry? And why Tom has such a trust issue?
Here’s mine: http://myreadersblock.blogspot.com/2012/01/friday-memes_13.html
Tom’s a Secret Service agent on the president’s detail. Ollie is the WH chef with a habit of wanting to useful in solving WH mysteries. And they were a couple at one time. She broke up with him. I think she was in the wrong, but I also know that they couldn’t have lasted as a couple, given his job and her need to help out.
your comment just made me LOL! 🙂
Thanks! 🙂 It was the only thing I could think of to say about the sentence.
I wonder where the steak comes in… now I’m hungry… lol
No steak, just a play on words. 😉 The covers of this series look good to eat, though.
Oh, wait, I forgot. There is a little picture of a steak at the start of every chapter.
I can just picture these two characters urgently hurrying along – but for what reason?
A foodie mystery series sounds like a good read.
It’s cold outside and they want to get their errand over with, so they can get back to the WH. 🙂
The series is good. I think it’s gets better with each book. It has to be tough, finding a balance between reality and suspending-your-belief.
