Notes on . . . Visions of Magic by Regan Hastings

about

Notes on a BookSometimes, the notes I take after reading a book are enough to further expand into some kind of review. Other times, I don’t take enough and/or wait too long to expand upon them. And then there are the times I don’t bother writing anything down immediately (thinking I might do so later), and end up having to spend time trying to remember what I liked/didn’t like. So, for those time when I fall too far behind or don’t have enough notes, I decided that I will just post what I have as “notes on” that particular book.

From Good Reads.com: In the ten years since magic has reemerged in the world, witches have become feared and hunted. For weeks Shea Jameson has been haunted by visions of fire. When she unintentionally performs a spell in public, she becomes one of the hunted. Her only hope is Torin, a dangerously sensual man who claims to be her eternal mate.

Notes:
I’ll admit that I was actually afraid for Shea in the beginning of the book. The author did an incredible job of setting the atmosphere of the with hunt. I kept reminding myself that “it’s a romance, it will work it self out”.

I found it very interesting that the county would actually elect a woman president when there was such fear of witches. How did she manage to campaign without someone accusing her of being one? Did she have to touch white gold to prove herself?

I will be reading more. I would like to see how it all works out.

Start: 18 April 2011
Finished: 24 April 2011

Favorite Quote:
Not only was she mean as a snake and comfortable with weapons, but she was a damn beauty, too. He liked that in a woman.
