From Good Reads.com: Mechanic Mercy Thompson has friends in low places-and in dark ones. And now she owes one of them a favor. Since she can shapeshift at will, she agrees to act as some extra muscle when her vampire friend Stefan goes to deliver a message to another of his kind. But this new vampire is hardly ordinary-and neither is the demon inside of him.

Three Reasons Review

1. Reason for choosing this book:
I chose this book because I finally stated this series last fall. (Fall, 2010)

2. Reasons for liking/disliking this book:
I really liked this book. I like Mercy and her world.

All the readers who shelved this under “dark” (on Good Reads.com) made a good call. Though I would never classify this series as “light and cheery”, it seemed a much darker book than the first one.

One of the reasons I liked this series so far, is that I was a Kate Daniels fan first — and both Kate and Mercy have such similar personalities, especially when it comes to pulling the whiskers *ha* of certain domineering, alpha men.

And it’s her interactions with Adam that tells me that Samuel is/was never going to be her mate. She may care for Samuel like family and still love him in a way, but it’s Adam that push her buttons and drives her to distraction.

(I may have to go back and read the first book again. Why is Stephen obsessed with Scooby-Doo? I couldn’t remember. . .).

3. Reasons for recommending this book:
I would recommend this book to readers who read the first book.

Start: 8 August 2011
Finished: 13 August 2011

Rating:

Really Liked It A Lot! Great read! May keep it, may give it away/swap.
