Thanks to several read-a-thons in August, I had a very good reading month. I completed 9 books for the month, plus two short stories from Nalini Singh’s Guild Hunters series. I like read-a-thons so much, that I’m actually going through withdrawals! The next one (that I know of) starts on October 1st.
Thanks to the read-a-thons, I was able to finish up the Mt. TBR Challenge. I managed to squeeze in one more book on the 31st, and that made it 40 books. And despite my decision to count my RITA challenge as Incomplete, I read a book from that list.
No reviews in August. I chose to read instead of participating in the write-a-thon. Depending on how things go between now and the end of October (my semiofficial end-of-the-reading year), I probably won’t take the time to write up any reviews until the holidays.
Looking ahead: My biggest goal between now and the end of October is reach my Reading Has Its Rewards goals. As of the end of August, I need 22 books, 927 pages, and 5,100 points to be successful. I will easily make the page goal in September and I might be able to pull off 22 books in two month, but I’m not so sure about the points. At this point, I’ll settle for two out of three.
On a side note, I did something truly bone-headed on my blog. As a result, all my image links are broken and need to be fixed. I’m lucky that I remembered to export a copy of my blog BEFORE I started fiddling with things I don’t fully understand. There are days I wish I stayed on the free WordPress site instead of going self-hosted. I’ve already made some fixes, but I’m working on it sporadically so it’s going to take some time before all of them are updated.
