What: 2013 Historical Fiction Reading Challenge
When: 1 January – 31 December 2013
Who: Historical Tapestry
Rules: Choose a level and read the corresponding number of books. Any type of historical fiction is acceptable — historical fantasy (steampunk?), historical mystery, historical romance. Below are the levels:
20th century reader – 2 books
Victorian reader – 5 books
Renaissance Reader – 10 books
Medieval – 15 books
Ancient History – 25+ books

Medieval – 15 books
I skipped this challenge for 2012 and I totally abandoned it in 2011. However, with my personal challenge to read Philippa Carr’s Daughters of England series, this will be an extra incentive to complete the challenge. I chose the Medieval level because I’m only reading the first ten books in that series for 2013. I also have historical mystery series, romances (Georgette Heyer, category romances, etc), and a few that fit the fantasy category (especially if steampunk is acceptable) that I want to read, but I don’t want to push my luck and go for 25 — I’ve not been consistent with reviews, so the fewer the better.
